12/09 Assistant Professor Position in Medieval French Language and Literature

The University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure track position in French commencing July 1, 2008. The Department of French is seeking applicants in the area of Medieval French Language and Literature. An interest in Romance Philology would be an asset. Duties will include teaching at both the Graduate and Undergraduate levels. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in French Studies or a closely related discipline with specialization in Medieval Studies and an excellent record of scholarly research and publication in this field. Applicants must also have a strong teaching record and native or near-native fluency in the French language, as well as a working knowledge of English. Applicants should ask three referees to send a letter of recommendation under separate cover to the address below. These letters must be received by the deadline for receipt of applications.
